Planning or renovating a home in Israel — whether you live abroad, are preparing for Aliyah, or already live here — requires more than choosing materials and finishes. It requires creative thinking, precise planning, clear communication, and professional involvement on site.
Many clients come to me because they want to:
I work closely with my clients throughout the project and lead the complete interior design process — from the initial planning and design concept, through detailed drawings and selections, to execution oversight on site.
Whether you are in Israel or abroad, you remain involved in every important decision, while I develop the design and coordinate its implementation with the local contractors, suppliers, and professionals.
I lead a structured design process that allows you to understand the options, take part in the decisions, and remain connected to your project — without needing to be in Israel full-time.
The process includes:
The goal is for you to understand what is being planned, feel confident about the decisions being made, and know that the approved design is being translated accurately into the work on site.
Every project begins with understanding how you live today — and how you would like to live in your new home in Israel.
I take the time to understand your routines, priorities, personal taste, and the furniture or belongings you may be bringing from your previous home.
From there, I develop a complete interior design that brings together functionality, creativity, materials, details, and atmosphere.
My role does not end when the design is approved.
Throughout construction, I remain professionally involved — clarifying plans, reviewing key stages, and coordinating design-related decisions with the contractor, suppliers, and professionals, so the work remains aligned with the approved design.
Working with Yuri has been an extraordinary experience from start to finish. Even before we officially became his clients, while we were still in the United States, Yuri responded to our many questions with warmth, professionalism, and remarkable detail. His knowledge, honesty, and responsiveness immediately impressed us. For almost two months we corresponded back and forth, and it was clear that he genuinely cared about understanding our needs and vision.
When we arrived in Israel, Yuri met us right away and personally guided us through the search for our new home. He helped us evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of 17 different apartments — many of which he visited on his own while we were still in the States — sending us video tours and thoughtful feedback. The apartment we finally purchased was one Yuri had personally reviewed and approved, giving us the confidence to move forward. From the very beginning, we felt not just that we had met a designer, but that we had found a trusted friend.
The design process that followed was just as impressive. Yuri carefully listened to our preferences, asked about our lifestyle in America, and studied photos of our previous home to ensure the new apartment would reflect both our needs and our dreams. He guided us through every detail, from which pieces of furniture to ship, to color palettes, lighting, cabinetry, and room layouts. He introduced us to lighting professionals and many other outstanding specialists, personally accompanying us to choose furnishings, beds, kitchen elements, windows, and doors. Each professional he connected us with was top quality, and the results have been superb.
Yuri also recommended an outstanding contractor, and together they worked hand-in-hand with us to create the apartment we had been dreaming of. Throughout construction, Yuri was involved at every stage, ensuring that lighting, cabinetry, and every structural detail were executed to perfection and true to his design.
The result is a home that is truly the fulfillment of our dream in Israel. Walking into our apartment now feels like stepping into a space of harmony, beauty, and comfort — a place where everything blends seamlessly and feels like “home.”
Beyond his talent and professionalism, Yuri’s greatest gift is his ability to listen, to advise, and to care deeply about his clients’ happiness. We feel so blessed to have worked with him. Our only sadness is that this 14-month journey of building and designing is coming to an end, because along the way we developed not only a beautiful apartment but also a warm and lasting friendship with Yuri.
We recommend him wholeheartedly and without hesitation.
My wife and I are only too happy to recommend Yuri of Yunu design for the work that he and his team put in to the recent refurbishment of our salon and bathroom. Not only was he a pleasure to deal with but so were the builder and carpenter with whom he had a long working relationship. Everything was carried out professionally and they all treated both the property and ourselves with the utmost respect. Their sole concern was that we should be pleased with the results. We feel very lucky to have found Yuri!
I’m Yuri Nulman, an English-speaking interior designer and founder of YUNU DESIGN, based in Jerusalem.
Since 2013, I have been planning and designing apartments, private homes, and commercial spaces — including homes for clients living abroad, preparing for Aliyah, or already settled in Israel.
My work combines creative thinking and a strong design vision with detailed technical planning and extensive experience working with Israeli contractors, suppliers, craftspeople, and professionals.
I work directly with my clients throughout the project, listen carefully to their needs, explain the available options clearly, and lead the design from the first concept through detailed planning and execution oversight on site.
The goal is not simply to complete a renovation.
It is to create a thoughtful, comfortable, and personal home that reflects who you are and supports the way you want to live in Israel.
