Modern Farmhouse

Planning and interior design for a 200 square meter private house in Gedra.

Living room - fireplace - dining area

The central space of the house is designed in an “OPEN PLAN” format, with the main functions being the guest living room and the formal dining area. There are no partitions in the space, so it was decided to produce a dominant sculptural-functional element that will be used to separate and also connect the various functions.

fireplace

The fireplace is designed as a fire rectangle with three transparent wigs. It was designed to have a lot of presence but not too heavy. In the ceiling I placed a recess where the chimney passes and the central air conditioning system to the living room space that merges both the living room area and the dining area.

A view of the kitchen from the dining area

The kitchen is built in the shape of a wide “H” that includes a lot of storage under the stairs and many work surfaces around.

In the center of the kitchen, we created a “carpet” of tiles and in the center we placed an island that is used by the members of the house for the daily meals.

the kitchen

The kitchen itself is built as a sequence of countertops with lots of storage cabinets. In the center of the sink, we placed a large window framed in a light blue Belgian profile and overlooking the view.

Wooden stairs lead from the entrance floor to the bedroom floor. The space under the stairs is used on one side for storage in the kitchen area and on the other side for integral storage in the entrance hall.

Going up the stairs leads us to the bedroom floor characterized by a combination of warm wooden parquet in the bedrooms, painted tiles in the bathrooms and cool and light Belgian aluminum.

Parents suite

The master suite is characterized by a rustic and warm look and therefore receives treatment with high doses of wood and textiles that produce an impression of softness and warmth.

The attached bathroom continues the design line and at the same time receives differentiation by the special painted tiles that add color and pattern to the clean space.

The tiles become a dominant design element in the space and produce interesting shows through transitions between the floor and the wall.

I hope that the couple, even though they can’t go on a honeymoon at the moment, feel in their new home like in a hotel.
