The official hospitality living room
Traditional materials such as wood, marble, black iron and velvet receive a contemporary interpretation in the space. The feeling we wanted to create is of a formal and meticulous space, but at the same time also warm, inviting and contemporary.
Living room - dining room - kitchen
The idea of open space is reinforced by the use of lighting fixtures strategically placed in the space. On the one hand, the lighting creates continuity through recessed fixtures located on a fixed and elongated grid. On the other hand, the lighting fixtures define specific areas such as the stairwell and the dining area.
The idea of open space
From the entrance to the house you reach a space that serves as a central axis for the whole house. On the left is the official hospitality living room, in the center are stairs that lead to the private spaces and on the right is the kitchen space with a circular dining area in the center. All of these are part of an open space where on the one hand there is a separation into defined areas and on the other hand the feeling of one elongated space is maintained.
Looking towards the dining area and kitchen
On top of the central axis of the open space I placed a round dining area surrounded by kitchen cabinets in a rounded shape. The materials that characterize this corner are warm and highlight the area as an inviting and warm space.
The dining area
A sculptural lighting fixture with a brass finish is located above the dining area and corresponds with the natural wooden surface of the table. A warm and inviting feeling reinforced by the white kitchen cabinets, which serve as a background for the main event.
Stairs in shiny black highlight the transition between the official and meticulous space to the family space and the bedrooms. Although there are only three stairs, we managed to create drama in this transition by using precise lighting that corresponds with the formal key.
Going up the stairs reveals a space that serves as a “bridge” between the private rooms and the official space.
This space is characterized by a materiality similar to the design language of the living room but in other doses – light, inviting and informal.
A sense of inviting space
Every time you pass through the family space, you want to jump and throw yourself on the huge blue-toned couch. A carpet rich in texture, a huge sofa full of pillows and colorful art details.
Parents suite
In the center of the master bedroom sits a luxurious king size bed in green-turquoise velvet fabric.
On her side hang the jewels of the room: thin, golden light fixtures supported by thin glass and brass side tables that serve as side chests.
Opposite the bed we placed the storage units – a transparent sliding wardrobe in a combination of black aluminum and rustic oak wood and a make-up unit and long drawers in matching materials. The feeling of the length of the room is enhanced by a 5 meter long recessed lighting profile in plaster.
I hope that the couple, even though they can’t go on a honeymoon at the moment, feel in their new home like in a hotel.
